52 Week Challenge Week 1: Leading Lines
At the start of the new year, I promised myself that I would post one new post a week to keep up with my hobby. I have fancy cool new equipment and a somewhat unique perspective, so I figured why don’t I keep it up.
This first post is dedicated to leading lines as part of a 52 week challenge I found online. I struggle with leading lines in photography mostly because I shoot what I find interesting right at the time and don’t pay attention to the composition as much as I should. Usually the photos that have a nice composition are by luck instead of a deliberate attempt. So for this week, I tried to keep focus on leading lines and try to improve my photography more.
The best example I have was from a trip to the Botanic Garden during their Lightscape festival. I found the lights to be really nice, but the crowds to be crazy busy. It also didn’t help that it was cold, wet, and snowy outside, so I was definitely a little fussy. I tried to capture the lights as they lead to another subject in the distance. With this technique I was able to focus on exactly what my subject is and to draw the eye to the end.
